Use this guide to understand how drivers check in with Yardo before arrival or at the gate.

How Driver Check-In Works

Yardo supports three driver-friendly check-in methods:
  • a secure check-in link sent by text or email
  • a text-message reply flow
  • a QR code provided by the facility
Each option is designed to help drivers confirm arrival without installing an app.

Before Arrival

Drivers should have:
  • the appointment details or reference number
  • access to the mobile number or email used for the appointment
  • any facility instructions shared in the appointment confirmation
When a driver receives a secure check-in link:
  1. Open the link on a mobile device.
  2. Review the appointment details.
  3. Confirm arrival.
  4. Provide any requested information, such as trailer details, if prompted.
This is the most direct option when a link is available.

Check In By Text Message

Some facilities allow drivers to check in by replying to a text message. In that case:
  1. Open the message sent for the appointment.
  2. Reply using the expected keyword or instruction shown in the message.
  3. Wait for the confirmation or next step.
If the system needs clarification, it may send a follow-up message or direct the driver to a secure link.

Check In With A QR Code

Some facilities include a QR code in appointment communications or printed paperwork. To use that option:
  1. Scan the QR code with a mobile device.
  2. Open the check-in page.
  3. Review the appointment details.
  4. Confirm arrival.

What Happens After Check-In

After a driver checks in, Yardo can help the facility:
  • confirm the arrival time
  • match the driver to the correct appointment
  • identify early, on-time, or late arrivals
  • route exceptions to the facility team when follow-up is needed
Drivers should continue watching for facility instructions after check-in is completed.

Common Issues

Confirm the mobile number on the appointment and check whether the facility is using text-message check-in for that location.
Ask the facility for a fresh check-in link or a direct check-in instruction.
Confirm the driver is checking in for the correct facility and appointment window, then contact the facility if the issue continues.
